Nominator's project description
| Professor Mitchell has an international reputation for path-breaking work on transnationalism, migration, cultural studies, and critical studies of education. Much of her work examines how proximity and distance work to shape social relations, institutions, and concepts like ‘citizenship’ in mobile, multicultural urban societies. During her stay in Germany, Professor Mitchell’s activities include research on refugee sanctuary practices or ‘church asylum’ in Germany. |
